What to Do After a Car Accident
Here are some recommendations from Thompson Collision Center in case of a collision:
- Stop in a safe, well-lit area and remove all vehicles out of traffic.
- Turn off the ignition on all vehicles involved.
- Call 911 to notify local police and if necessary ask for an ambulance.
- Have your driver's license, registration, and insurance information ready when police arrive.
- Write down names and phone numbers of all vehicle occupants, any witnesses, and, if possible, information on any injured parties. Also note date, time and the weather conditions.
- Use your smartphone's camera to document the vehicles and collision scene.
- Exchange insurance company information.
- If necessary, call Thompson 24-Hour Towing at (215) 489-3900 or 1-800-846-6776 and press 7 to have your vehicle towed to our I-CAR Gold Class certified collision shop. If you have Roadside Assistance, AAA or other auto club membership, just ask them to tow your vehicle to Thompson Collision Center.
- Notify your insurance company. If it is not convenient to contact your agent, telephone the nearest office.
