Electric vehicle fans out there are about the get some good news, because BMW has just announced that the 2017 BMW i3 will be seeing a significant increase in battery capacity as well as range, though the BMW i3 with Range Extender model will continue to be available for those with higher driving needs, or who want the added insurance of a 2-cylinder gasoline engine at their backs. The new technology being used is the Samsung 94 Ah battery cells, which increase the capacity of the battery pack by about 50%, and that translates into an increase in range of approximately 40%, from 81 miles per charge to 114, which is nothing to sniff at. Of course, for those with heavier driving burdens or who want a little added insurance, the Range Extender model is always a great option.
