The 2017 Toyota Prius Prime hasn't even hit showrooms yet, but Toyota is already talking about a second-generation. Next time around could even feature five-seats. If you haven't heard, the upcoming release of the 2017 Prius Prime will equip a lot in safety, technology and range ability, but it won't feature a middle seat -- here's why:
"As Nathan Kokes, Toyota's brand manager for advanced technology vehicles, told us back in April when the Prime was unveiled, giving the Prime only four seats was important for the car's overall efficiency," reports the staff at AutoBlog. "If the rear were to seat three across, the car would need to have more reinforcing material and its 3.3-kW charger would need to be moved. Those changes are possible, and Koji Toshiyama said he's ready to make them happen."
What do you think? Do you prefer four or five seats? And, don't forget to keep your eye on our new inventory so you don't miss the debut of the 2017 Prius Prime!
